How to Bounce Back from Missing Workouts and/or Poor Nutrition

It happens to the best of us…we get busy…we go on vacation…we lack motivation…we get injured…there are many possibilities for ‘falling off the wagon’ and skipping far too many workouts, or going crazy with your nutrition. I get it. You’re human. But does that mean that your healthy habits are all gone? Does that give you an excuse to give up? To fail? HECK NO! I spent the past two weeks in Florida house hunting, more than a week longer than we intended. I packed my healthy food in a cooler and packed my workout clothes. Unfortunately, I got sick for about a week of the trip. Then it was my birthday…then I ran out of clean workout clothes…and found a margarita, some chips and guac, and my couch for pretty much the rest of the trip.

Does that mean that when I got home I continued to drink margaritas and sit on the couch? NO! I’m not perfect and I took a few too many days off. I’m home, and back on track. I’m back to tracking my meals at thedailyplate.com and to my workouts 5-6 times a week. A lot of people think that being healthy is either all or nothing. I messed up for a week, it’s all over. You need to change your thinking! This is your HEALTH! If you start P90X, get halfway through it, then go to a few too many parties, miss a few too many workouts, does that mean that you failed? Nope! Start right where you left off.

Did you miss a few too many workouts? This is me telling you that it is ok. Start TODAY!  Get back on track, and forget the all or nothing approach to your nutrition and your workouts. This IS, after all, a lifestyle change =)
