5 tips on how to find time to workout with a toddler

 

I know it’s hard to find time to workout when you have kids!!! It’s hard to find time for anything, am I right?? One of the questions I get asked often is, “how do I find time to workout with a toddler?” 

A BUSY toddler, at that. OMG. This kid is all over the place!!!!!! 

OK, so here is the deal. I *try* and stay pretty active throughout the day and am *usually* pretty good with my nutrition, so that I don’t freak out if my workouts aren’t perfect! Trust me, they are rarely perfect, lol. 

Here are 5 tips on how to find time to workout with a toddler:

Tip 1: Be flexible! Toddlers seriously have a mind of their own!!! If you are 5 minutes into your workout and your toddler has something else in mind, don’t sweat it. Just go with the flow, and hopefully you’ll be able to come back to it later =) 

Tip 2: Distraction! I realize that even the best distractions can last a few seconds sometimes, but do what you can! TJ likes his high chair and snacks, or rummaging throughout the cabinets for pots and pans =) 

Tip 3: Get them involved! I do toddler workouts lol =) Check my Facebook page for my #busymomchallenge and often my videos include TJ! He likes to do the moves with me–especially on days when he’s clingy! 

Tip 4: Nap time!!! Some days it seems like no matter WHAT I do, it just isn’t going to happen. Wait for nap time or bed time, and workout then. 

Tip 5: Walks!! TJ is usually great about going for walks with me. He’s in the stroller checking everything out, I’m listening to some personal development getting my move on. Don’t overlook walking–it’s a GREAT form of exercise!!
