how-to create a budget

Today I want to talk to you about budgeting. And you might say, Rachel!! You’re a fitness coach! Why are you talking to me about budgets?!

Because this is something that is SO important…and most people don’t learn how to handle their finances! Seriously, WHY did I learn how to dissect a frog but NOTHING was taught on handling money in school??

This is something that I’ve actually learned pretty recently. When I became a Beachbody coach, it’s like a whole new world of personal development was brought into my life…and I’ve learned a TON of pretty awesome stuff—including financial planning =)

So let’s get right to it. Hot to create a budget!

You can use a tool like this: http://www.daveramsey.com/tools/budget-lite/ to figure out your expenses each month. I LOVE Dave Ramsey and everything he teaches—he really makes it SUPER simple to understand how to get out of debt and build wealth!

So let’s get started with those expenses–create a spreadsheet like the one below! You can even download it at the link below =)

Then write out how much you earn each month. Ideally, you should earn MORE than you spend!! If not, you need to make some cuts!!

Every month, create your budget and STICK TO IT! Dave has something called the Envelope System, where you use CASH ONLY and take out the amount of money you want to spend that month, and create an envelope for each category and put the money in there. Once the money from the envelope is gone, it’s GONE! There is NO putting it on a credit card! While we are talking about credit cards, GET RID OF YOURS. I mean it. Cut it up.

So what I want you to do is PRINT OUT this spreadsheet and USE IT! Don’t just pin it and think it’s a good idea and then forget about it. That is NOT going to change your finances! Print it out NOW!

If you are serious about learning more about handling your finances and becoming debt free, I want to help!!!! I have a FREE private group on Facebook where you can join us and continue the discussion. You can request to be added here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/251631028361019/
