Today I want to talk about gratitude. I feel like it’s so easy in our society to get caught up in the more more more mentality…that you feel like you never have enough. Or you want something that you really don’t need. When was the last time you looked around at what you already have and just said thank you? The last time you were in awe of how blessed you are because you have a place to live, food to eat, and a body that can move. Don’t take these things for granted.
I’ve seen those without homes, without food, and without a functioning body. I’ve seen little boys sleeping on the sidewalk because they don’t have anywhere else to go.

Children begging for food because they don’t have enough to eat. I’ve seen a paralyzed man scooting himself on the sidewalk with his hands and a stick because he can’t afford a wheelchair.
I’ve met a man who lives in one of the biggest slums in the world, Kibera in Kenya, and he shared with me that his passion was to help those who have been affected by HIV/AIDS. He told me that even though he was poor and lived in one of the poorest places in the world, he was grateful because he had his health and he wanted to help those who didn’t.
Wow. That really stuck with me. When was the last time you just looked around and said thank you? You ARE blessed.
