Insanity Workout Review

My husband wanted to try Insanity yesterday for the first time.  I asked him what he thought of the workout, and he said, “I now see why it’s called Insanity!” The name fits the program perfectly.

Who is Insanity for? 

Honestly, I think that having a GOOD, solid fitness base is ideal before starting Insanity.  It is a TOUGH program, and I hate people taking on programs that are way out of their abilities and then getting injured or getting frustrated.  Insanity is for people who are already in good condition, but want to push themselves even more, or for athletes who want to get themselves into the best shape possible.  I coach girls volleyball and I use a LOT of the moves in Insanity with them for their conditioning, and I recommend all of them to get the program to do on their off days to improve their speed and agility.

Also, if you are prone to injury, or have bad knees, Insanity probably isn’t for you.  I am seriously prone to injury from playing competitive volleyball for 10 years, and I know that my body cannot handle a full 60 days of Insanity.  I DO add it into my workout routine once or twice a week when I really want a challenge, but I don’t think I could handle much more than that.
