I have a LOT of people tell me the reason they can’t lose weight is because they don’t have the time to workout.

Yes, while exercise IS important, it is only a small factor in the weight loss equation.

A one hour workout (if that) is a small part of your day—the KEY to success weight loss is controlling what you put into your mouth during the next 23 hours.

If you consume more calories then you burn, you’re going to gain weight. So exercise CAN help you lose—but the thing is that so often people overestimate the number of calories they burn and underestimate the calories they eat. They think that because they went to the gym that day that means that they can eat however much they want the rest of the day.

Sadly, that’s not true. An intense 30 minute workout may burn 300 calories (depending on the person). Those 300 calories can easily be eaten back—an apple and two tablespoons of peanut butter is that equivalent.

So, while you should workout daily—not just for weight loss but for overall heart health and happiness (endorphins!!), nutrition should be your number one focus while trying to lose weight.

You should consume daily:
  • Plenty of veggies
  • Fruit
  • Whole grains (preferably organic and Ezekiel brand)
  • Lean protein
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Beans
