I get SO many questions about healthy living, and the things that I do regularly, so I wanted to share some healthy ‘rules’ I eat by.

I did NOT adopt all of these habits overnight—this is a slow process!!! So take a few of these ideas and implement one at a time!

  1. Don’t buy junk food that will tempt me
  2. Eat at least 20-30 grams protein at each meal. Protein keeps you full! I never just have cereal, a bagel, or bowl of pasta.
  3. Drink WATER. The only time I drink my calories is when I have Shakeology. I avoid juice and soda, the added sugar and calories aren’t worth it in my opinion. Drink water first thing in the morning and bring water with me at all times!
  4. Follow my workouts with protein (shakeology or performance line)
  5. Eat mostly plants! I load UP on my veggies. I eat those first–to fill up before I eat starchy foods.
  6. If it’s hard to stick to one serving, STOP buying it.
  7. Don’t eat fast food. Starbucks protein plate.
  8. Be prepared! I pack healthy snacks whenever I’m out and about. I know what healthy options where I’ll be or google them.
  9. Portion out your food ahead of time. It’s SO easy to eat 400 calories of nuts if you’re not careful!
  10. Don’t stress—if I eat something, move on! Next meal! No cheat days or waiting until Monday!
  11. Eat until I’m 80% full—NOT stuffed
  12. Treats need to be worth it—I won’t have something I don’t absolutely love—and then I take a few bites and give away the rest.

Since I’m a rebel and believe rules are meant to be broken (ha!) I don’t follow these PERFECTLY, because perfection is boring lol! But I try to stick with these principles most of the time =)

Do you follow any of these rules?

Did this help you? If so, I would really appreciate it if you comment below and share on Facebook!
