Today I want to share with you some of my best health secrets. They aren’t really secrets—because I preach about this stuff ALL the time…but these are things that I’ve learned to do over the years for optimum health =) Since I was 17 I’ve been soaking up every book and magazine I could get my hands on about health and nutrition. Here are 15 of my best health secrets that I want to share with you. 

 
1. Eat breakfast every single day
2. Exercise is the best stress reliever. I don’t eat when I’m stressed, upset, sad, etc. I pray or I workout. 
3. A glass of wine and a piece of chocolate are good for your health AND your soul. For real. 
4. Eat the fat. And the carbs. And the protein. Never cut out any macronutrient—they are ALL vital for your health. 
5. Avoid anything labeled low fat, sugar free, calorie free, fat free, etc. It’s filled with chemicals and tastes like crap. 
6. Push yourself—but always listen to your body. Sore = good, pain = STOP. 
7. Sit down to the table and really enjoy the experience of the meal. Never eat distracted. 
8. Add fat like avocado, olive oil, or hummus to your veggies so you absorb the nutrients better. 
9. Start your day with a big glass of water with fresh lemon. 
10. Never eat food with a mascot. 
11. Buying local and organic not only tastes better, it’s better for you, your local farmers, and the environment. 
12. Eat. Super low calorie diets and starvation plans do NOT work. 
13. Vary your fitness. Do a mix of weight training, cardio and flexibility. Mix things up to continue challenging your body.
14. Start every meal with veggies. Fill up on veggies first—then enjoy what’s left. The more veggies, the better!
15. Shakeology. Every. Single. Day. Having something to cover your nutritional bases is KEY…especially with the quality of food today.
