17 Healthy Fast Food Options (1)Before I had TJ, I NEVER ate fast food. And I mean never. With the exception of growing up….I started eating healthy at 17 =)

Then I had a kid. And realized what a PAIN it is to get a kid in and out of a car seat, or take a fussy toddler into a restaurant to eat, or just cook when you’re EXHAUSTED.

So I get it, fast food is convenient.

But it can totally wreck your goals—if you don’t know what to order.

Oh, and by the way, if you’re new to my blog, I’d love to get to know you better! Please check out my about me page and introduce yourself =)

Here are 17 Healthy Fast Food Options and what I would order at each!

And no, these options aren’t PERFECT…but they are definitely a better option than most crap out there 😉

Starbucks

1. I’m obsessed with the protein plate, as well as the breakfast sandwiches.

2. The cheese plate is also delicious!

3. The Spinach Feta Wrap is an awesome option for under 300 calories!

4. Sometimes I’ll even order a smoothie and ask that they add a packet of Shakeology to it instead of the protein powder. WINNING.

Dunkin Donuts

5. The egg white flatbreads are yummy and lower in calories than many of the other options.

Chick Fil A

6. I’ve gotten an egg and sausage bowl before, don’t be afraid to order off of the menu!

7. The chicken sandwich is also a decent option.

8. I’ve also heard that they now have a superfood side! Grab that with some grilled chicken nuggets and you’re set!

Wendy’s

9. The Ultimate Grilled Chicken Sandwich has 370 calories. Order with a garden salad and use the dressing sparingly!

McDonalds

10. Not sure I can recommend anything here lol…but the Egg White Delight McMuffin is a decent option for breakfast (if there is literally NOTHING else).

11. The Premium Southwest Salad with Grilled Chicken is also ok, just use the dressing sparingly and toss the tortilla strips.

Burger King

12. The veggie burger is better than other crap on the menu, just hold the mayo.

13. The Tendergrill Chicken Sandwich (hold the mayo) has 360 calories.

14. The Chicken, Apple & Cranberry Garden Fresh Salad has 560 if you choose the grilled chicken instead of fried (which comes out to 700 calories).

15. Another decent option is the Chicken, Apple & Cranberry Salad Wrap, for 430 calories.

Subway

I used to eat Subway ALL THE TIME…until I realized that it’s not ‘fresh’ like it advertises lol.

Don’t fall for the ‘health halo’ that Subway promotes…people are likely to consumer MORE calories at Subway than McDonald’s!

Definitely get a 6’’ sub, nobody needs to eat an entire foot long! Well, maybe my hubby does lol.

16. Stick with the Fresh Fit items on the menu.

Taco Bell

17. Two Fresco Soft Tacos with shredded chicken have 280 calories. Not bad, but I’ve always been super leery of Taco Bell for whatever reason…there were a lot of rumors about their meat in junior high lol.

IMPORTANT: Don’t be fooled by some of the options masquerading as health food. The yogurt parfait at McDonalds? Dessert. Most of the salads at restaurants? Fattier than a Big Mac.

Do your research—all of these chains have their nutritional information online—just google the restaurant and nutritional info or use Calorie King=)

So there you go….17 healthyish fast food options. Just don’t make a habit out of it, k? 😉
