Here are the Top 5 Worst Foods for Weight Loss!

Worst food for weight loss #1: Liquid calories

Liquid calories add up FAST, and they don’t satisfy you! Let’s say that you typically have a glass of juice with breakfast, a soda in the afternoon, and a glass of wine with dinner.

If these are just typical portion sizes (not like a jumbo soda or anything), you can lose between 30-50 pounds in a YEAR just from switching to WATER.

Crazy, right? So if you’re trying to lose weight, drink water, tea, or coffee (without sugar or cream).

Worst food for weight loss # 2: Artificial sweeteners

I fell for these in college—bad! My roommate and I used to have a bag of splenda a MONTH!! Ahh!

The thing with artificial sweeteners, is that they make you crave MORE sugar. You don’t feel satisfied with it, and you end up eating more.

Plus, they aren’t proven to be safe! The only artificial sweetener I use is stevia, and in moderation.

Worst food for weight loss # 3: Sugar!

Sugar is EVERYWHERE…and it’s ADDICTIVE! Some studies show that sugar is even more addictive than COCAINE! Say what?!

The more sugar you eat, the more you crave it, and it becomes a vicious cycle. I’ve been there—so you aren’t alone!

What can you do? Cut it OUT of your diet. You might go through withdrawal, but pretty soon you’ll get used to the normal taste of foods.

Worst food for weight loss #4: Fat free/low fat foods

One of the worst things that ever happened to the food industry was the fat free craze. People thought that fat made them fat (WRONG), so they took the fat OUT of foods and replaced it with sugar and other chemicals.

Here’s the thing: your body NEEDS healthy fat to thrive! Fat keeps you satisfied! Healthy forms of fat include: coconut oil, grass fed butter, nuts/seeds, olives, olive oil, flax seed oil, and avocado.

Try to include ONE healthy fat source at eat meal. So if I’m eating a salad, I’ll add either nuts like cashews OR avocado.

Worst food for weight loss # 5: Foods that only contain carbs

When I was growing up, I remember eating an entire stack of pancakes, or a huge plate of fried rice, and wondering WHY I was hungry an hour after I ate all of that food!

It’s because it was all simple carbs that are easily digested.

If you’re going to eat carbs, pair it with a protein. So if I DO eat rice, I’ll make sure to have some shrimp with it. If I have oatmeal for breakfast, I’ll add some peanut butter.

I hope these tips help you reach your weight loss goals!
