Vegan Hot Chocolate Recipe

Brrrrrrrrr! Even in North Florida, I still feel the need to have some hot chocolate! I know, I’m a wuss =) Regular hot chocolate is typically make with cows milk and lots of sugar…not too good for you! I make my vegan hot chocolate with almond milk (you could substitute, coconut, rice, soy, etc.) and I cut down on the sugar.

Vegan Hot Chocolate Recipe

1 cup almond milk

2 tsp cacao powder

2 tsp sugar (or agave, stevia, etc.)

2 tsp water

pinch of cinnamon

 

Directions:

Heat up almond milk in a pan.  Meanwhile, stir the cacao, sugar, cinnamon and water to dissolve. When almond milk starts to boil (or right before the boil) turn off burner and add to the cacao mixture. Stir well and enjoy!
