Do you want something? Are you looking to lose 10 lbs? Put away more money in savings? Manage your time better?

The key to doing any of those things is awareness. Are you aware of your habits? Do you know how many calories you’re consuming on a daily basis? How about exactly how much money you’re spending? Do you know how much time you spend on Facebook? Knowing these things is the first step…then you take action!

So how can you know? TRACK IT! I’ve been tracking my calorie intake since I was in college…and let me tell you it truly is eye opening if you don’t do it for awhile! I’ve gained a LOT of weight during my pregnancy…even though I’ve been eating pretty healthy. I stopped tracking my calories during my pregnancy because I thought, hey, I’m pregnant, I get to eat more and I shouldn’t worry so much about tracking right now. Ohhhhh boy. If I could go back in time, I would’ve been tracking my calories the ENTIRE pregnancy because I’m going to have a LOT of weight to lose. Tracking brings awareness…did you notice those extra couple of bites you had while you were clearing your kids plates? Were you really hungry? How about those small handfuls of nuts that you grabbed when you came home…I’m telling you, if you start tracking EVERY single thing that goes into your mouth, you’re going to think twice about what you put in there!

My favorite way to track my calories? I use myfitnesspal.com, and there is also an app on my iPhone. Super easy to use. Get your account, and then add me as a buddy! Search for rachelngom. We can hold each other accountable!

Do you track your finances? Since I’ve started doing this…it’s brought a HUGE awareness to what I’m spending my money on. If you have to track it, you’re going to think twice about buying it! The app that I use to track my expenses is Expensefree. Super easy!

So many people tell me they don’t have the time to workout…well let me tell you something! We ALL have the same 24 hours in a day! How are you spending yours? If you don’t know, then it’s time to find out! An easy way to do that is simply keep a journal and record what you’re doing every 15 minutes for 3 days. You’ll be shocked what you waste your time on. For business productivity, I use a program called Time Doctor and you can find it at timedoctor.com. It helps immensely with my productivity!!!

I hope these tips help you, and remember to track it!!
