Foods for a Flat TummyOne of the questions I get a LOT is what are the top flat belly foods? It’s a great question! There are a LOT of foods that can bloat the belly, making you appear 5-10 pounds heavier! If you want to beat the bloat and get a flat tummy, check out these flat stomach foods. 
 
 
 
Here are the Top 15 Foods for a Flat Tummy:
 
1. Coconut oil
 
Coconut oil is rich in a medium-chain essential fatty acid known as auric acid, which nourishes your thyroid gland, aka your metabolic powerhouse! It also provides the essential fatty acids that serve as the building blocks of your hormones. 
 
2. Raw almonds
 
Almonds are super satisfying, filled with monounsaturated fats that can help you reduce cravings and stay full! Plus, they are a super convenient snack! 
 
3. Spinach (or any leafy green veggie!)
 
Leafy greens are super low in calories—one cup of spinach contains only 40 calories and satisfies 55% of your daily fiber intake! Leafy greens are also a great source of calcium (with better absorption than cows milk!), an essential ingredient for muscle contraction, which will fuel your workouts! 
 
4. Avocados
 
Avocados are filled with monounsaturated fats which encourage fat burning! They are also loaded with fiber! Time for some guac =) 
 
5. Grapefruit
 
Grapefruit can reduce insulin levels, which prevents fat from being stored in the body. 
 
6. Apples
 
One apple has 5 grams of fiber, and is also 85% water, which helps you feel full! 
 
7. Eggs
 
Eggs are packed with protein which will keep you fuller, longer. They also contain vitamin B12, which helps your body break down fat cells. 
 
8. Nut butter (organic, natural, and free from added sugar)
 
Nut butters are an awesome source of monounsaturated fats, which can help you lose belly fat. Be careful though—they are super easy to overeat. A 2 Tbs portion is about the size of your thumb.
 
9. Salmon
 
Salmon is a great flat belly food because it’s full of omega 3 fatty acids, which revs up the metabolism and encourages fat burning. 
 
10. Berries
 
Berries are a fiber rich food which helps you stay fuller, longer. One cup of raspberries have 8 grams of fiber! 
 
11. Broccoli
 
Broccoli is a great food for a flat tummy because it’s low in calories, filled with nutrients and fiber! 
 
12. Asparagus
 
Asparagus is filled with vitamins A and C that can promote fat burning, plus it’s super low in calories! 
 
13. Green tea
 
Green tea is a powerful metabolism stimulator that can help accelerate fat loss and inhibit the absorption of fat. Have a cup after dinner instead of dessert! 
 
14. Cucumbers
 
Cucumbers are crunchy and satisfying, low in calories and can help you feel full because of the high water content. 
 
15. Quinoa
 
Quinoa is a gluten-free grain that contains 5 grams of fiber and 11 grams of protein per 1/2 cup, which will keep you satisfied, longer! 
 
You  might notice that the majority of these foods for a flat tummy are fiber rich foods. You should aim to get a minimum of 25 grams of fiber each day. 
  
Flat tummy foods to avoid: dairy, gluten (wheat!), and sugar are the big three. They can make you BLOAT. If you want to de-bloat fast—I highly suggest cutting out these three foods!
