I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!! I know that it is HARD to eat healthy and workout during the holidays. I know that I felt myself slipping too! The cookies, the wine, the extra socializing, and MORE cookies…it definitely took a toll and I not only feel puffier, but I have less energy and I’m starting to get acne–eek! Isn’t it crazy just how much our nutrition can affect our bodies??
Ok, so HOW can you get back on track ASAP so you don’t spiral out of control? I have a few tips for you =)
1. Start each day with a protein packed breakfast. I have some great ideas on my blog. The protein will keep you full and you’ll have less cravings for junk.
2. GET RID OF THE COOKIES. Easier said than done, right? I can’t actually throw away the cookies because my hubby would get pissed lol, so I’m just going to pretend they aren’t there anymore. I won’t have ANY anymore because just a little sugar makes me crave MORE sugar! Know yourself–if you’re cool with moderation, then a cookie won’t hurt. But if you know that you can’t stop at just one, it’s time to get rid of them.
3. Track your calories for a few days using myfitnesspal.com. This can be SUPER eye opening. You’ll see just how many calories you’re really eating…and if you need to cut back.
4. Stick with WATER. If you’re like me, you drank a few too many glasses of wine…cut out the wine, cocktails, eggnog and juice for now and just stick with water. It’ll help flush out your system. Coffee and tea are ok, just careful with the sugar and cream.
5. Get your workout in. It’s best if you can do it first thing, but any time of day is ok. Just do it! ANYTHING is better than nothing.
6. WALK as much as possible. Don’t under estimate the power of walking. I just want you to move your body =)
7. Join my New Year New You fitness challenge. I’ll be teaching you ALL of my weight loss tricks, you’ll get a customized fitness program, nutrition guide, and my personal coaching. You won’t have to do this alone!
