I’ve been eating what I consider to be pretty gosh darn healthy since I was about 17. Lots of fruits and veggies, oatmeal,  nut butters, eggs…all what I thought was healthy food, right? Maybe….maybe not.

I’ve been having pretty bad headaches for awhile now. That, and dry skin patches, dizziness, feeling cold, bloated, and just kind of…off. I don’t talk about it that much because I always try and stay positive and upbeat, but I knew that feeling this way isn’t normal and I needed to get myself checked out!

I have sought out an expert on trying to figure out what’s up. I had a Skype meeting with Body Beast trainer, Sagi Kalev this morning. I was honestly a little nervous! This guy kicks my booty in Body Beast lol. He’s an awesome guy and crazy smart when it comes to nutrition and how your body reacts to certain foods. Yes, he’s the Beast, but he’s also a clinical nutritionist with incredible credentials.

Turns out, some of the foods that I’ve been eating on a regular basis can be contributing to some of my symptoms. Bananas, peanut butter, oats, eggs, salmon, wine, oranges, coffee…essentially my daily diet–can trigger these symptoms. Crazy, right?! These are what I’ve learned to be healthy foods–but they may not be so healthy–for me!

So now I’m working on overhauling my diet. This isn’t going to be easy, but ultimately, it will be worth it. I’ll be keeping track of what I’m eating and logging my meals and how they make me feel. I’m also going to get my hormone levels checked to make sure everything is ok.

Know this–our bodies are meant to be symptom free! If you’re experiencing inflammation, headaches, etc., get it checked out! It is NOT normal. The food that you put into your body really does have a very strong effect on how you feel.
