lessons from tony robbinsHoly moly. I just got back from a business conference in Las Vegas, and I can’t WAIT so share some of the things I learned there. It was AMAZING. I seriously have like 40 pages of notes, lol!
Going to these conferences was something that I started to do when I started my own business, because I quickly learned that the BEST investment I can make as an entrepreneur, is in myself. I’m ALWAYS working on growing, becoming a better leader, see how I can make a bigger IMPACT, and live out my PURPOSE.
One of the speakers at the conference was Tony Robbins. Have you ever heard of him? He’s that infomercial guy from the 90s, super tall, big teeth, and was an actor in Shallow Hal, lol. He is also an INCREDIBLE mentor to me, and millions of people all over the world. He’s written several books, has mentored people like Nelson Mandela, Princess Diana, Usher, billionaire investors, and millions of other people around the world. I’ve been learning from him for years now, and getting to see him LIVE was seriously a dream come true.
I wanted to share with you some of the techniques that Tony taught us on how to live an incredible life, because this stuff is TOO GOOD to keep to myself!
An extraordinary life is life on YOUR terms.
Tony says that if you want an extraordinary life, you need:
1. The science of achievement—how to take the desire you have and create it into the life you want.
2. Emotional mastery—you don’t know what to do, but you do it.
3. The art of fulfillment—everyone is fulfilled in a different way. If you master achievement but not fulfillment, you’ve failed.
All of these points are important, but let’s talk about emotional mastery. This is SO huge. Have you ever been in a funk? In a bad mood? Annoyed? Upset at someone for no good reason? Do you ever get into a state where you overeat?
If you do, good—you’re human! Let’s focus on ways that you can CHANGE your state—when you’re in a beautiful state, you make better decisions. You’re happier. You’re more fun to be around =)
Two primary ways to change your state:
1. Radical change in physical body—the way you move, breathe, gesture, sound
2. Change what you focus on. What you focus on you will feel!
Let’s break down number 1—changing your physical body. So let’s say you’re on the couch, slumped over, diving into a bowl of ice cream, feeling kind of sad or lonely. The way that you can CHANGE that state, is to jump up, and MOVE. FAST. Below I’ll show you a video of what Tony actually had us do to create a state of excitement—jumping up and down and screaming however the heck we wanted to. EMOTION is created by MOTION—so make it a point to move your body to break out of that state.

Alright, so if you’ve got the movement part down, then let’s talk about FOCUS. Our life is shaped by our perception and focus. We have to learn how to DIRECT our focus if we want to live an amazing life. You can change your focus by asking questions.
Here is an example: Have you ever been in a state, where let’s say money is really tight. You are asking yourself HOW in the world am I going to be able to keep up? How can I pay these bills? What if something happens?
Gosh, just by asking those questions, I start to feel a little bit anxious! INSTEAD, start asking yourself empowering questions: HOW can I change this situation? WHAT can I DO to increase our income? By asking these empowering questions, your mind gets to work to figure out a way to get yourself out of that situation.
I challenge you to pay attention to your state on a daily basis, and if you notice yourself start to slip into a bad state, try one of these strategies to get yourself out of it.
Remember, you were made for an EXTRAORDINARY life.
If you try these techniques, let me know!
And be SURE to get his two books on audible, Awaken the Giant Within and Unlimited Power!
