Sour Cream–Replace with Greek Yogurt. You’ll still get the creamy texture, but with a LOT less fat and calories.
Bagel–English muffin. WAY less carbs and calories. Get whole grain!
Ice Cream–Banana Ice Cream! Frozen bananas in a food processor. EASY!
Mayo–Low fat mayo OR avocado OR hummus. I use either hummus or avocado on a sandwich instead of mayo. MUCH healthier!
Ground Beef–Extra lean ground turkey. A lot less fat without sacrificing a ton of flavor.
Potatoes–Cauliflower. I would replace some of the potatoes in a recipe with mashed cauliflower!
Cheese–Butternut Squash. In a mac and cheese recipe use a roasted butternut squash to replace some of the cheese.
Spaghetti–Spaghetti Squash! Eat a HUGE plate of pasta for a TON less calories.
Full Fat Cheese–Reduced Fat Cheese. You won’t notice a huge difference in flavor.
Butter when cooking–Cooking spray. You can save a LOT of calories here!
French Fries–make your own sweet potato fries and bake in the oven!
Chocolate–swap milk chocolate for dark chocolate. Yum…just remember portion control =)
Oil in cake and baked goods with pure pumpkin or applesauce
Potato Chips–Kale Chips
Salad Dressing–Balsamic Vinegar. I’ll add some hummus for a little creaminess but less calories.
Pizza–Make your own at home with whole grain crust, veggies and low fat cheese!
