Losing weight is simple, really—you’ve gotta burn more than you take in! So many of us live sedentary lifestyles. It’s so easy to! We have cars, elevators, escalators, we can do our laundry and dishes at the push of a button, and we have everything available to us from our computer. We could literally just sit on our butts all day long and have Amazon come and deliver anything we need. Crazy, right?! 

 
SO—we need to seek out ways to get active!! Find ways to move a little more throughout the day. Sometimes I’m jealous of my hubby since he works with horses so he’s out working all day long—always on his feet—while I spend all of my working hours behind a computer! I’ve still been able to lose 79 pounds though—so if I can do it, you can too!! 
 
How can we increase our activity level? 
 
  • Make yourself a standing desk!!! I’m in the process of making one for myself—right now I just use a bossu ball as my chair. Hopefully I can get my little desk made this weekend so I’ll be up and about more throughout the day. 
  • Park further away! Anytime you have to go somewhere, try to find the furthest parking spot. Those steps really do add up! 
  • Take a lap around the grocery store. Heck, make it 5! Bonus points if you shop at a huge place like WalMart =) 
  • Set a timer on your phone to remind you to get up and get moving! I personally drink a ton of water so I have to get up and pee like every 30 minutes—my bladder is my timer 😉 
  • Take more walks!!! Walking burns more calories than I realized =) I like to wear a body bug or a pedometer every so often and it really inspires me to walk more! 
  • Put on music and dance!! I love to do this when I’m cooking or cleaning—and TJ loves to watch =) 
  • When doing laundry, or anything really, only take what you can carry in your hands—not what you can stuff in your arms. This way you’ll have to run up and down the stairs a few more times!
