
These 5 healthy lifestyle habits are super simple to implement into your everyday lifestyle!
5 Easy Healthy Life Habits:
Healthy life habit #1: WALK!
Walk more! Walking is a super easy habit to add to your daily routine. Instead of watching tv on the couch after dinner, go for a walk! On your lunch break, go for a walk with your co workers. Park further away when shopping so you have to walk more.
Try to make a conscious effort to walk whenever and wherever you can! Get a fitbit to help you reach a goal of 10,000 steps each day.
Healthy life habit #2: SLEEP!
Make sleep a priority! I get it, you’re busy. You have kids, work, and things you have to do. But many of us underestimate the importance of a good night’s rest!
Did you know that too little sleep can impair your weight loss efforts? It’s true!! When you don’t get enough sleep, your cortisol levels are raised, which can lead to stored body fat.
Make it a goal to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every single night. This is one healthy life habit that you NEED to make a priority. ASAP!
Healthy life habit #3: Portion control
You could have the BEST healthy food habits, but if your portions are too big, you’ll end up sabotaging your weight loss efforts.
A good rule of thumb is to fill half of your plate with veggies, 1/4 with a complex carb (brown rice, sweet potatoes, quinoa) and 1/4 with a protein like chicken, tempeh, turkey, eggs, etc.
You CAN overeat healthy foods, so stick with this strategy and watch the pounds melt off. If you need help with portion control, I love this program.
Healthy life habit #4: Drink WATER
So many people drink their calories. Soda, juice, wine, beer, etc. can easily pack on the pounds. If you cut out just 2 glasses of juice or soda each day, you could effortlessly lose 20 pounds over the next year. Without doing ANYTHING else.
You’ve gotta stay hydrated, so stick with water. I ALWAYS have a big bottle of water with me. Start each day with a 16oz glass of water and keep drinking throughout the day.
Healthy life habit #5: Laugh, relax, and enjoy life!
My final healthy living habit is to RELAX and have fun. So many of us are stressed out all the time and don’t take enough time for ourselves.
I give you permission to do NOTHING. Or do something you REALLY enjoy. Go get a massage, watch a funny movie, do something that makes you happy.
I LOVE Friends, so sometimes I take a break in my day to watch an episode from the DVR. It makes me laugh and rejuvenates me so I can get back to work with a fresh mind.
