So you’re heading to a buffet? A lot of people think that an all you can eat buffet means that you SHOULD eat anything and everything. You’ve gotta taste everything and get your money’s worth, right?
Wrong!! Overeating to get your moneys worth is just silly. Why stuff yourself to the point of being uncomfortable? What’s the point? Change your mindset about buffets–while there is a lot of food and you technically CAN eat however much you want, should you? Do you need to?
Now that we have that settled, how can you go to a buffet without overeating and still enjoying what you want?
Before you even grab your plate, do a circle around the buffet. Take a good look at everything and decide on what you truly want. What looks good to you?
Fill up half of your plate with either fruit or veggies, and then take a little bit of one or two dishes that really look good to you. You don’t need to pile your plate with every kind of food there.
Enjoy it! If you want dessert, go for a small piece–not a buffet style plate of dessert.
Going to a buffet doesn’t have to be a diet disaster–as long as you follow this strategy =)
