Struggle with motivation? I hear you! Motivation is what people tell me they struggle with most! So I wanted to share with you 5 tips on how to get motivated to lose weight!
I’ve lost 80 pounds, and let me tell you, I am NOT MOTIVATED all the time! It’s not like I wake up excited to workout and eat healthy every day lol! It’s something that I’m consistently working on, and honestly, I force myself to do it most days. BUT I’ve found a few things along my fitness journey that have helped me to stay motivated so I wanted to share these tips with you!
How To Get Motivated To Lose Weight Tip #1:
Know your goal, and the more specific your goal the better! Exactly what do you want? And more importantly, WHY do you want it? You need to know the reasons WHY change is a MUST. I suggest writing down the reasons why you MUST get healthy (not why you should), and look at that list daily! Watch Tony, and BURN YOUR BOATS! I want to see your MUST list!!
How To Get Motivated To Lose Weight Tip #2:
Reverse engineer your goal. It was overwhelming to know that I had 80 pounds to lose, so what I did was break it down into monthly goals (5-8 pounds/month, 1-2 pounds/week), and then daily goals. What could I do THAT DAY to get closer to my goal?
How To Get Motivated To Lose Weight Tip #3:
Don’t do it alone! Support is SO KEY when it comes to reaching your goals!! I would have such a hard time if it weren’t for my fit fam! They help me stick with it! YES, I am a fitness coach, but DUDE I’m human! And having a group to check into daily, where I know they have my support, truly helps.
How To Get Motivated To Lose Weight Tip #4:
Educate yourself!!! I’m reading a good book or listening to a good audio daily! Every darn day! Mindset is so key when it comes to weight loss, and if you learn about the effects of sugar on the body (like in The Obesity Code), I swear it’s easier to stay away from the junk. See my fave books and podcasts here.

How To Get Motivated To Lose Weight Tip #5:
Get organized! I’m obsessed with my daily planner and it really helps me stick with my goals. If you fail to plan, you’re planning to fail!
The things I put in my planner are my workout times (treat it like a Dr. appointment!), and also what I will eat the following day.
Tell me about you! Do you struggle with motivation? Which of these tips will you implement?
